Memorial Day: First and foremost, a day to remember those who have paid the ultimate price for the freedoms that we enjoy. Freedom is not free. My thoughts are with those today who are missing someone who paid the price for us to be free.

Secondly, it's a great day to spend with the family. The unofficial beginning of summer. And here, that means it's not to hot yet to enjoy some time outside. Jacob is really into caring for plants right now. His "Topsy Turvey" strawberry planter tore, so we decided to plant them in the front flower bed. I need to get stakes to transplant the oriental lilies he grew from bulbs for my birthday. They have several buds. I can't wait to see them bloom!
Joshua cooked burgers and hotdogs on the fire pit or dinner.
He is the resident pyro.
MMM...burger!
What BBQ is complete without roasted marshmallows?
I love this little brother/big brother picture.

Dad showing the proper way to assemble s'mores.
My dad. Aimee will appreciate this picture, lol.
My dad is a farmer at heart. He created this "river" to water the newly planted flowers and let the water seep in deep. It is very dry here, so to survive they need deep water. Hopefully, these flowers, and the strawberries will make it through the summer, and produce.
And this one just cracks me up! Nate was climbing the cherry tree, so I tried to catch a couple pictures of him. Nate lost a tooth today on the bottom, beside his middle two teeth. The smile in this picture lines up perfectly to make his teeth look like fangs.

Great day. Back to the routine tomorrow. I hope you all had a great day today and enjoyed some special time with your families.

IT'S PROM NIGHT!! Here is my (not so) little boy all decked out. He sure cleans up nice. Isn't he handsome?
And here is Brandi. She is a beautiful young lady, inside and out. But, WOW! She's not a girly girl at heart. Now, we have proof that there is a girl in there, lol. (Buggy would be mortified)
Here is the full dress. So pretty.
Here they are together. I have better photos on my camera; these were taken with my phone. Funny they both blinked, but I couldn't tell on my phone screen, lol.
The prom theme is masquerade. So, I made them masks to wear. Hers turned out nice. His looks kind of like an indian headress. At least the colors match.
How come no one told me how expensive courages are? I am in the wrong business. I stopped by the flower shop today to get Brandi's coursage and they wanted $24.99 for one, and $7.99 for a boutineer (one little rosebud and some baby's breath). So, I stopped by the grocery store and bought a boquet of flowers and rummaged through my craft supplies. And this is what I came up with, for $7.99 and some imagination.
And this was left over from the boquet!
