Then there was the quiet and sniffles in the car. That is until Shawn (resident comedian) said, "Now that the awkward silence is over, woo hoo, we got rid of him," or something to that effect. It did break the tension and make us all laugh. Although, it was still hard to leave him there.
Last night was particularly tough, on all of us. I was in desperate need of a good cry, but people kept coming in my room. Even Shawn came in and laid on our bed for a while, because it didn't feel right in his room alone. I texted and IM'd with Joshua for a while before bedtime. Webcam is an awesome thing, except that he really looked lonely and sad. I hope tonight is better for all of us.
Now that I have that off my chest, here are some pics from the weekend. I didn't take any pics yesterday. It wasn't a moment to capture and see again. The emotions are enough.
This is Joshua's new part time home. His home is still here.
Is this not the coolest thing?
Moving in on Saturday.
Moving in on Saturday.
Brandi, Joshua and Shawn in Joshua's dorm room.
Shawn, don't ask; it's Shawn - enough said.
Joshua's space.
Saturday night, playing games in the hotel room.
The train game
This one is for Brandi's Mom. See, they slept in different beds. With a table in the middle, lol. We moved it to play games the night before.
There is a story here. We were headed to the beach to have lunch before dropping Joshua off on Sunday. Well, we got caught up in some major traffic. So, Shawn went through the backseat, to the trunk, to get some drinks. I don't advocate this, but we weren't going anywhere, and neither was anyone around us. We ended up turning around, and didn't make it to the beach after all. Maybe next time.
Like I said, no pics from Sunday afternoon. But, you can see there was a lot of fun this weekend too. I can't believe I have to do this three more times...
